Out of Hours facilities.
St Peter’s is a small school and therefore we are unable to run a Breakfast Club or after school facilities on our site.


City Way Nursery:
We have an arrangement with City Way Nursery to drop off and pick up children from St Peter’s who attend their morning or afternoon sessions.


Breakfast Club:
This club runs from 7.30am – 8.30am Term time only and Breakfast is provided.
Children are then escorted to St Peter’s ready to start school at 9am.



After-school Club:
This club runs from 3.15pm – 6pm Term time only.
By prior arrangement with City Way Nursery children can be collected from school and escorted to the Club.

A variety of activities are provided and Tea is included.

Holiday Club:
This club runs from 8am – 6pm during School Holidays.

Family Programs.
For a number of years we have run a series of very successful family programs in conjunction with Adult Education.
These programs are FREE and are run at the school during school hours.
Some programs are for adults only and some are for adults and their school aged children.
Creche facilities are provided as necessary.


Family Literacy:
This program is offered to parents and their Foundation stage children.

It runs for one morning per week and offers a unique opportunity for parents to come into school and work with their children on Literacy activities led by a teacher as well as working alongside a tutor from Adult Education on updating their own Literacy skills.


‘Keeping up with the children’ Numeracy:
This is a short 4-6 week program offered when requested.
This program is designed for parents only.

This program gives parents the opportunity to work with a tutor from Adult Education on Numeracy skills that can be used to support their child develop their skills and knowledge.


Positive Parenting:
This is a short 4-6 week program offered when requested.
This program is designed for parents only.

This program offers helpful hints on developing positive behaviour strategies.



First Aid:
This is a short 4-6 week program offered when requested.
This program is designed for parents only.

This program updates parents skills and knowledge on First Aid specifically related to children.


Cooking:
This course is run by a parent with skills and qualifications in Nutrition. It is designed to offer suggestions for quick, simple and healthy meal options to try at home.
This course takes the form of either:
a) A one off session cooking a specific dish.
b) A short 4 – 6 week program offered when requested.
This program is designed for parents only.


Short Courses:
From time to time we run Fun Family activities after school. These generally run from 3pm-4pm one evening per week and are FREE.
They are designed for parents and children to attend together and have included for example Dance and Yoga.


‘Play and Learn’:
This program runs one afternoon per week and is for parents and their pre-school children to come along and participate in activities led by a tutor from the Adult Education service.


‘Share a Book’ Events:
These events are run throughout the year in conjunction with Medway’s Library service.
These events are for parents and their pre-school children who can come along and participate in reading activities led by a Librarian.


CLUBS:
St Peter’s offers a range of After-school Club options. These Clubs generally run between 3 – 4pm unless otherwise stated and are held on school premises.


Sticky Kids Club:
This Club is run by Mrs Barker and Miss Mason on Mondays’ after-school.
This is a FUN Club that involves dancing and actions to Music, singing, clapping songs & rhymes and accompaniment with musical instruments. This Club is not intended to teach children to play a specific instrument but is designed to allow children to develop a love of Music and Movement.


Art & Craft Club:
This Club is run by two of our Mrs Barker and Miss Mason on Tuesdays’ after-school.
Children are involved in a variety of Art and craft activities, the results of which they bring home to share with you.


Grass Roots Football Club.
This Club only runs if there is sufficient interest.
This Football Club is run by fully trained, insured and Police checked instructors from the Grass Roots Football organization in conjunction with Arsenal Football Club.
The hour is divided into two parts; the first concentrates on a specific coaching programme of specific aspects such as shooting, passing etc. The second is dedicated to small-sided matches where such aspects can be put into action.

‘Busy Bees’ Multi-skills Club.
This Club is run by Mrs Newman and Miss Miah on Wednesdays’ after-school.
This is a FUN & very active Club, where children are involved in a variety of activities designed to challenge their skills and be involved in Team Building.
Children need PE Kit and Plimsolls to take part in this Club.


ICT Club:
This Club is run by Miss Mason and Mrs Newman on Thursdays’ after-school.
This Club gives children the opportunity to work on Computers doing fun, educational activities and playing games.


‘Speed Stacking’ Club:
This Club is run by Mrs Worrall and Miss Miah on Thursdays’ after-school.
‘Speed stacking’ is a FUN competitive activity that improves children’s hand/ eye coordination and concentration.


Charities.
We believe that it is important for children to have awareness that there are those in the world who are less fortunate than ourselves. Therefore we participate in a Charity event per Term where children are encouraged to participate in an event or activity to raise funds.
We also participate in the Blytheswood Shoebox Appeal for Christmas and fundraising activities for The Wisdom and Demelza Hospices.


Community Events:
Children at St Peter’s participate in a variety of events for the local community.


HARVEST:
We hold a yearly Harvest Festival where we invite local elderly residents, Councillors, parents, Governors etc.
Food collected at our Harvest Festival goes to local old folk and the Caring Hands Charity.


SOUP KITCHEN:
At Christmas we have a Soup Kitchen, where we serve soup, bread and mince pies to invited local residents, as well as parents.
The older children sing Christmas songs.
